KEY ISSUES- "IDEAS"
"I do not own a store front business in Houston. I do not own rental property in Houston. I have no hidden agenda. I am simply running for my children, for your children, and for the future of Houston."
"If elected, I will be the only alderman serving on the current board with elementary school-aged children. My presence would bring a whole new dynamic. Let's work together to give our children more than is currently offered"
I- IMPROVEMENTS IN INFRASTRUCTURE
Improvements in Infrastructure- City streets are dilapidated and in need of restoration. Inner city sewage and water lines are outdated, which requires additional focus on the infrastructure. Plan accordingly for the redesign and replacement needed. Technology competition and improvements need to be sought within the internet, cellular, cable, and telephone options.
A- ADVOCATE & FOCUS ON CITY DIVERSITY
A-Advocate and Focus on City Diversification-Diversification through industries to promote career growth opportunities. Focus on Small Businesses through establishing priorities that promote economic upward curves for growth.
S- STRENGTHEN DEPARTMENTS
Strengthen Departments- Police Department revitalization. Combat crime issues in a stance that sends a non-tolerant message. Evaluate the possibility of a youth offender and/or community service program to help with juvenile crime increase. Offer drug awareness programs that emphasize community commitment toward a drug free environment. Evaluate the need for health awareness programs for all ages through the Parks and Recreations Department such as cycling, soccer, and walking/running groups.
D- DEVELOP A PLAN
Develop a Plan- Being PROACTIVE versus reactive. Establish attainable short-term and long-term goals. Emphasis on fiscal conservatism and responsibilities through annual budget, departmental expenditures, and building a reserve.
E- ESTABLISH BETTER WORKING RELATIONS
Establish Better Working Relationships-Relationships in and through our educational system, county, state, and federal governmental agencies. Seek various grant opportunities and monetary outside resources for investment into our city.
